🌱 CLASSSPRIG / PRIVACY

Classroom privacy

ClassSprig is a free educational initiative by Caleb Media Studio LLC. We design lessons to work without student accounts or a student database.

What happens to classroom activity?

During a live session, the single classroom server temporarily holds a nine-digit room code, secret random session tokens, anonymous answer choices and question text in its process memory. It does not ask for student names, emails, school IDs or grades. A room ends when the teacher ends it, after 45 minutes, or after the teacher is absent for 150 seconds. Its server-held state is then deleted. Restarting the server also loses all rooms.

What stays on a device?

The teacher's custom questions and anonymous aggregate result snapshots may stay in that teacher browser's localStorage until the teacher clears them or the browser clears website data. Participants' answer choices are held in their open tab for the live interaction. No student account is created.

Third parties and hosting

Classroom pages do not load Google Analytics. Public informational pages may use GA4 only after explicit opt-in. Your internet connection and hosting provider still process necessary network requests and may retain ordinary security or access logs. We cannot truthfully promise that browsers, school devices, and network providers create no records.

Device sharing

Teachers using shared computers should select “Clear local saved results” when finished. Students should close the classroom tab after the session. Teachers should not enter student personal information in custom questions.
